Meta's Muse AI agent can now shop and check out for you

“Okay so Meta's AI can now go shopping for you... and actually pay.”

The short version As of October 2026, Meta's Muse AI agent can find products and check out for you with Shop Pay or Link by Stripe after you approve. Amazon has blocked it.

Okay so Meta's Muse AI agent can now browse stores, fill out forms and check out for you, and on October 3, 2026, CNBC broke down exactly how it works.

How does Muse shopping work?

Muse shopping works like this: you ask the Muse agent for an item, as specific as you want on brand and price. It scans retail sites, shows you listings, preps the checkout, then shows you an "approval card" with the order details to confirm.

Where can Muse shop?

Muse can check out on Shopify stores with Shop Pay, after Shopify announced on September 21, 2026 that agentic checkout with Shop Pay would work across all Shopify stores. Muse can also pay with Link by Stripe. That's a lot of stores, from tiny brands to big ones.

Is it safe to let Muse buy things?

Meta says Muse is built with a few guardrails:

  • it asks for your approval before it buys
  • it can't see your passwords or your card
  • Link generates a one-time-use card number, so your real card details stay hidden

What's the catch with Muse shopping?

The catch is that not every store wants Muse. Amazon has blocked Muse from buying on its site, saying it violates Amazon's terms of service. And how returns and customer service work for Muse orders on Shopify still isn't clearly documented.

Bro. I'd tell it to buy one hoodie... and come back to five.

Real talk: AI that actually buys stuff is here. That approve button is your seatbelt.

So don't hand it your wallet blind. Just read before you tap yes. Like, now.

If you'd rather hear this stuff early than find out the hard way… follow. I got you.
