Okay so on October 2, 2026, Meta open sourced Muse Gadgets, free code that lets anyone build hardware for Muse, Meta's AI agent, and it's giving away 5,000 Muse Home Link plugs.
What is Meta Muse Gadgets?
Meta Muse Gadgets is an open source project of SDKs and firmware, released under the Apache 2.0 license on GitHub, for building your own devices that talk to Muse. There are SDKs for ESP32 boards and Linux computers, and it works with a Raspberry Pi 5 for Home Assistant setups.
Little screens, pocket gadgets, whatever you want to build.
What is Muse Home Link?
Muse Home Link is a small USB-C plug, built on an ESP32-C5 chip, that connects Muse to your home Wi-Fi. With community-built skills, Muse can control things like:
- lights
- your TV
- your printer
Who can get a free Muse Home Link?
Meta's free Muse Home Link is only for people with an active Muse subscription in the United States, one per subscriber, first come, first served, with 5,000 units shipping in October.
- The code behind it is open source...
- ...but Home Link itself only runs official firmware and can't be reflashed.
Bro. I still get up to turn off my lights like it's 2010.
Why does Muse Gadgets matter?
Muse Gadgets matters because Meta's AI isn't just a chat anymore. It's starting to touch real things in your home. Real talk: that's cool, and it's also a reason to know exactly what it can switch on.
So don't ignore it. Just know what it can switch on. Like, now.
If you'd rather hear this stuff early than find out the hard way… follow. I got you.
